I have often seen firsthand how the illness of one family member can have wide-ranging impacts on the entire family. This is particularly true when a loved one is dealing with a terminal illness. Though it can be difficult to discuss the end of life with patients and their families, I have learned how important and ultimately comforting having this conversation can be for them.
