Leading faith-based Healthcare
The goal of the Ethos Home Health Care and Hospice healthcare team is to lead and guide Ethos in a direction of success while enriching the quality of living for the individuals we serve, building a strong foundation and creating a culture of serving others. Religion and spirituality play a key role in our faith-based healthcare approach. Ethos Leadership Team
Dr. Kinsey Nelson, Medical Director
Dr. Kinsey Nelson is the Medical Director for Ethos Home Health Care and Hospice program. He strives to provide high quality, comprehensive healthcare to all of his patients. Along with treating a wide variety of acute illnesses, Dr. Nelson also specializes in the management of complex chronic diseases. Areas of interest include diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, orthopedics/sports medicine, depression/anxiety as well as well-child care, men’s and women’s health.
Dr. Nelson graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine in Minneapolis, MN. He completed his residency at the United Family Medicine Residency Program in Saint Paul, MN. He also completed a post-graduate Fourth Year of Mastery at United Family Medicine.
Dr. Nelson is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. This means that he has fulfilled the necessary criteria established by the regulating board and has passed examinations that accredit him in the field of family medicine.

Katie Richardson, Administrator
Katie Richardson is the Administrator of Ethos Home Health Care and Hospice with offices in Fargo, Grand Forks, and Detroit Lakes. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis on Leadership and Management from the University of Mary. She received her Associates Degree in Nursing from Lake Region State College.
Katie realized she wanted to become a nurse when she became a certified nursing assistant in home health care and hospice. End-of-life and quality of life have been her passion throughout her career. She started her professional nursing career as an inpatient oncology nurse where she was able to support patients at the end of life. From there, she worked as a clinical nurse educator where she helped build the organization’s first nurse residency program. The program continues to teach the skills and compassion needed for quality nursing care with an emphasis on comfort at the end of life. She also helped grow the palliative care program as practice manager of cancer services and palliative care.
In addition to her work at Ethos, Katie currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Red River Valley Oncology Nursing Society. She is also a member of the Altru Health Systems Ethics Advisory Committee and teaches an End-of-Life course for the Altru Nurse Residency program and Lake Region State College. Katie was born and raised in North Dakota and is passionate about serving North Dakota and Minnesota communities.

Mark Anderson

Mark Anderson is the President and CEO of Knute Nelson, a nonprofit senior housing and services organization based in Alexandria, MN. Mark is responsible for the strategic vision, operations, and fiscal stewardship of the Knute Nelson Corporation. He held various local and state-level governance leadership positions, including LeadingAge MN. He holds an MBA from the University of Mary in Bismarck, a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Concordia in Moorhead, and is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator.
Marnie Gugisberg

Marnie Gugisberg is the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Knute Nelson, a nonprofit senior housing and services organization based in Alexandria, MN. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting from Minnesota State University in Moorhead and an Associate of Arts Degree in Accounting from Fergus Falls Community College. She is currently participating in the Leading Age Larry Minnix Leadership Academy.
Thomas Anderson

Thomas Anderson is a life-long resident of Alexandria, Minnesota, where he owned and operated the Anderson Funeral Home for over 35 years. In that community he has served in several volunteer capacities including being a Board Member of the Chamber of Commerce, Alexandria Area Economic Development Commission, and Lutheran Social Services. Mr. Anderson served for several years on the board of the Alexandria Wells Fargo Bank and as a Board Member and Chair of the Knute Nelson organization in Alexandria. He also served as a member of the University of Minnesota Board of Regents as Chair of the Finance and Operations Committee. He is married to his wife, Angie, and they have two adult children, Kreg and Jack.
Shawn Stuhaug

Shawn Stuhaug is the President/CEO at Bethany Retirement Living, a senior housing and services organization based in Fargo, ND. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Minnesota State University Moorhead and completed the Long-Term Care Administration Program at Concordia College through the Tri-College University. Shawn also holds a Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of Mary.
Jane Kelly

Jane Kelly is the Chief Financial Officer at Bethany Retirement Living and has been with Bethany for over 30 years. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and her Masters Degree in Business Administration from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Jane is a member of the North Dakota Long Term Care Association Funding and Reimbursement Committee.
Jack Rydell

Jack Rydell, DNP, RN, is an Associate Professor in the nursing program at Concordia College. He has served as faculty at Concordia College for 13 years. In addition, he works as a staff RN at Sanford Health on a per diem basis in the Palliative Care Unit. Jack received his Bachelor of Arts in Nursing from Jamestown College. He received his Master’s Degree in Nursing from the University of North Dakota, and then earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Minnesota.
Jon Riewer

Jon Riewer is the President and CEO of Eventide Senior Living Communities, a nonprofit, faith-based long term care and senior services provider based in Moorhead, MN. Jon has over 20 years of experience in healthcare administration serving the communities of Fargo-Moorhead, Detroit Lakes, MN, Cokato, MN and Cando, ND. He has a Bachelor Degree in Health Services Administration from Concordia College and a Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of Mary.
Rob Bye

Rob Bye, together with his wife Jana, owns and operates Fargo Linoleum. Rob has served on the Valley Water Rescue dive team as a public safety diver and Board member, coached youth football in Moorhead for 16 years, the Moorhead Schools High School Task Force and currently serves on the Board of Eventide Senior Living Community, & the Moorhead Athletic Association. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Concordia College. He lives in Moorhead with his wife, Jana, and has three grown children, John, Erik and Matt.
Melissa Heesch

Melissa Heesch is the Chief Operating Officer at Eventide Senior Living Communities, a nonprofit, faith-based long term care and senior services provider based in Moorhead, MN. Melissa has over 25 years of experience in healthcare administration as an RN Nurse Leader, DON, Long Term Care Administrator, VP and COO. She has an Associate Degree in Nursing from Presentation College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Minnesota State University Moorhead, a Long Term Care Administrator’s Certificate from the University of Minnesota and a Master’s in Health Services Administration from the College of St. Francis.
