We Honor Veterans Level 2 Provider
Ethos Hospice is proud to be a Level 2 Partner with We Honor Veterans, a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO). As a We Honor Veterans partner, Ethos Hospice provides specialized care, support, and recognition to Veterans during their final days, weeks or months of life. With our level 2 status, our promise to Veterans is to:
- Deliver Veteran-centric care with dignity and respect
- Efficiently address pain and symptoms to make every moment matter
- Collaborate on setting and achieving care objectives
- Offer spiritual, emotional, and physical support to both Veterans and their families
- Offer round-the-clock on-call assistance
The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs, created the We Honor Veterans program to empower hospice and other healthcare providers across America to meet the unique needs of seriously ill Veterans and their families. Offering Specialized Support to Veterans
Apart from being a We Honor Veteran provider, our team is dedicated to offering supplementary care, support, and services to make Veterans feel acknowledged. This includes:
- Providing specialized training for hospice staff and volunteers tailored to meet the unique needs of Veterans
- Offering support to individuals struggling with PTSD, survivor guilt, or other combat-related issues
- Integrating patriotic music into therapeutic music sessions
- Educating patients and families on VA benefits
- Veteran-to-Veteran volunteer programming
- Granting recognition certificates, commemorating Veteran’s Day, and other acknowledgments tailored to Veterans
Receive Specialty Veteran Care with Ethos Hospice
Veterans can receive hospice care wherever they call home. This includes private residences, assisted living communities, or other nursing facilities. The costs of hospice services can often be supported through Medicare, Medicaid, Veterans benefits, and most private insurance policies. Meet the author
Scott Holm is the Director of Ethos Home Health Care and Hospice. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education and Exercise Science, as well as a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of North Dakota. Scott began his professional career at Altru Health System in Grand Forks where he spent 11 years building on his knowledge. He held multiple positions such as Inpatient Physical Therapist, Supervisor of Outpatient Therapy, Lean Facilitator, and Practice Manager of Surgical Specialty Clinics. Scott joined the Ethos Home Health Care and Hospice team in October of 2022 as the Regional Clinical Manager in Grand Forks and was promoted to Director in June of 2023. Scott demonstrates excellent leadership, care, and compassion and he is passionate about serving North Dakota and Minnesota communities. In addition to his professional career, Scott is married to his wife, Grace, and together they have 4 children. He enjoys golfing, running, and spending time at the lake with his family.
